The PA 309 Corridor Coalition is a collaboration of municipalities, private-sector businesses and public sector entities (PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the Pennsylvania State Police, etc).
Mission:
To offer a forum in which the business community, municipal, county and state officials can cooperatively address and seek a resolution of traffic-related problems affecting the PA 309 Coalition area. By enhancing mobility and safety, through the reduction of congestion and pollution, the PA 309 Corridor Coalition helps to promote the area's orderly growth, sustain its quality of life, and ensure its continued economic vitality.
Goals and Objectives:
The PA 309 Corridor was formed during the planning stages of the Route 309 Reconstruction Project.
- Bring together local municipalities and agencies that are affected by the Route 309 Construction project.
- Work with area responders (Pennsylvania State Police, local Police agencies, local Fire agencies and local EMS) to establish an incident management plan for the corridor.
- Build and sustain partnerships with business and community leaders, local and state government, committed to reducing congestion and pollution along the PA 309 corridor.
- Promote and coordinate congestion management strategies designed to reduce the growth of peak hour traffic.
- Provide literature and other information to those interested in the project and all of its details.
- Promote intermodal transportation solutions.
- Undertake such other activities and programs as the Coalition's members may from time to time determine to be in the interest of the Coalition.
