Intermittent Traffic Stoppages Scheduled On Commodore Barry Bridge King of Prussia – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that one lane will be closed on westbound Commodore Barry Bridge in City of Chester, Delaware County, Monday through Friday (March 8-12) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge widening.
There will also be intermittent traffic stoppages on the Commodore Barry Bridge on Wednesday (March 10) from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge widening.
The work is part of PennDOT’s $71.1 million project to construct two new ramps off the Commodore Barry Bridge to provide direct access between Interstate 95 and Route 291 (Second Street). Construction is scheduled to finish in 2011.
Crews are building a new ramp off the approach to the Commodore Barry Bridge to enable I-95 motorists to exit onto Route 291 (2nd Street). A second ramp being built off the Commodore Barry Bridge to will allow Route 291 (2nd Street) drivers to reach I-95.
Driscoll Construction Company Inc. of North Wales, Pa., is the general contractor on the $71,171,504 project that is funded with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state monies.
