Montgomery County Community College Mobility Hub Feasibility Study
Founded in 1996, Montgomery County Community College’s Pottstown Campus is an academic center for students in the Pottstown area. From one building to four, the Pottstown Campus has grown to service more than 2,000 students. The Pottstown Campus also employs more than 400 employees and supports more than 650 jobs through related services to the campus.
GVF has been partnering with Montgomery County Community College for over three decades. GVF has been an advisor on the College’s Climate Committee, helped to facilitate and manage their campus shuttle, as well as President Vicki Bastecki-Perez serving on GVF’s Connected Communities Community and the College’s Government Affairs Director serving on GVF’s Advocacy Committee.
Montgomery County Community College’s 10-year strategic plan has an emphasis on improving connectivity between its Pottstown campus and the Borough of Pottstown. The College would like to see better connections to trails, as well as intercampus trail connections, at the Pottstown campus. With the goal of improving connectivity and determining viable and affordable transportation options for its students, GVF and Montgomery County Community College Pottstown campus embarked on a partnership to conduct a feasibility study of a potential mobility hub at the Pottstown campus.
This project was funded by a Transportation and Community Development Initiative (TCDI) grant and administered through DVRPC. This feasibility study addresses the TCDI goals of linking land use, transportation, and economic development to the Montgomery County Community College’s strategic plan goal of improving connectivity between the Pottstown campus and surrounding communities.
